Naresh:>
Sorry it isn't working for you...I have no idea why.
I did read yesterday that FSX patch1 should be installed over a "clean FSX"....with no addons till after the patch.
I know I didn't know that. I only lucked out because my previous FSX performance was so bad I had installed very little in it.

Naresh, one thing i found on my old computer when i was trying to set up FSACARS was that if i used the NOAA metar that in certain areas when i started the log that FSACARS would crash immediately...i tried switching to VATSIM metars and it started the log grand...
as i say this was on my old computer and i never got FSACARS working properly on that...but it might be worth a go...I also dont use FS commander!!

Naresh,
I used FSACARS the last couple of days for Dave's charter flights in Peru and it worked fine there. Maybe it is something unique about your set-up. About a week agao, I tried installing FS Live Traffic for FSX on my machine. I spent three days on it, using all of the suggestions provided by the AirNav Systems technical support people and, at the end of the day, it just wouldn't load and start. They just shrugged, so to speak, and said that there were so many variations in individual set-ups that they couldn't track down every problem. Very frustrating.

Jerry,
I believe my FSX is default, no addons yet. I had to reformat my volume(partition) sometime back.
You know Cillian, you may have found my problem with FSACARS. I will give that a shot and report back to you sometime this week.
Mike, I'm sorry to hear about the incompatibility between FSX and live Traffic. Diagnosing a computer problem is difficult that's why they pay those techs a lot of money. I'm almost certified as a COMP TECH now. I smell Money Money Money!

Naresh,
The AirNav Systems folks claim that there is no FS Live TrafficX/FSX compatibility problem - it's just some specific problem with my system. If it were a medical condition, they would describe it as "idiopathic".
Apropos (don't you love that) of Cillian's point. I've been using Active Sky for my weather. Maybe that's why I don't have a problem outside the US.

I have not tried it yet but I recommend using No Metar in the Metar option. This feature has no significant advantage to our auto PIREP filing system.
This option stores weather at some intervals during the flight. We don't need that for our PIREP filing.
The weather report at destination airport in our PIREP email is something I added later and it is totally unrelated to the feature in doubt. I wrote its own separate codes to fetch the weather at destination airport.
Thanks Mike and cheers to Cillian. I'm very impressed.
