I have taken the liberty of creating the St. Paul Airlines vroute community and uploaded a banner logo for it. It is moderated, so if you want to join our St. Paul Airlines community, then I will send you an invitation to join. I just need your VATSIM ID to enroll you. Just send it to me in an email from here in Who's Online. This will give you the opportunity to create your very own personal SPA profile for flying on VATSIM. For instance, you can upload your own profile picture and post it.

This is a great opportunity for you to start using VATSIM in a whole new way.

vroute.info is a revolutionary new online flying tool that combines in one place:

- VATSIM server information ("servinfo"),

- world's largest flight plan database (39000 routes available as of Sep 2006),

- flight and ATC booking features.

Ease of use was our primary concern. For example, the user does not have to worry about timezones. Normally, a lot of information is available in UTC time zone - for example, flight and ATC booking times, event announcements, flight forecasts etc. vroute.info automatically converts these UTC times to your local time zone. All information you enter in your local time, for example when you make a flight booking, is automatically converted to UTC.

Our airspace maps feature 3D background - which helps you identify geographical features you will be flying over.

All the important and frequently changing data, such as airspace information, airport data, airline names and logos are stored in a central server. No more are all users required to re-download vroute.info just to get a new airline or new airport.

You can download it's browser by clicking here.

P.S. We need at least 10 active VATSIM members to be listed in the top vroute communities.Right now, United Virtual Airlines has 319 members. So, let's get out there and do some recruiting!

If you have not installed vroute yet and registered it, then please do so before asking me to invite you to join.

I do not have everyone's email address so I may not send everyone an email invitation.

edited by: Robert_Thompson, Nov 01, 2007 - 11:41 AM

I'm waiting for at least four new members. Two were sent invitations and have not yet accepted. They are Chris and Juan. Juan has been having problems installing vroute. Juan and I have been emailing back and forth, but so far no luck on that.

Anybody else want to join? I can get you started.

Did you know that vroute users can create new routes? If you are searching for a vroute to your favorite destination and do not find one, you can create your own. When you create your new route, it is available to you immediately for flight planning purposes. But, it also gets submitted (when you check the box) to the vroute management for approval. And, if accepted, it will be available for ALL vroute users from then on.

A few SPA members are now registered with our St. Paul Airlines vroute community. Anyone else who wants to join can still use the vroute planning tools. This does not mean that you have to connect to VATSIM every time when you fly. But, I recommend that we try to support VATSIM as much as possible. After all, they are trying hard to make our virtual skies safe.
