Distinguised Service Award to Larry Chew - SOP Manager, Long-Time Pilot, Contributor to SPA was created by jer029

While I understand that some pilots think little about our awards - and Larry is one of them, although it's hard to believe because he's achieved just about all of those available, as the somewhat newly appointed President of St. Paul Airlines (officially anyway), I have decided to flex my newly-acquired administrative muscle by issuing Larry our rarely-issued Distinguished Service Award. This award is significant because it is awarded to those who have contributed so much to our VA - often behind the scenes where most pilots are unaware of the hours invested in keeping things active and interesting here at SPA.
Larry has been a very active member here at St. Paul Airlines for the last 9-years. In addition to his many flying hours that pilots might be aware of - almost twice as many hours as the next most active pilot (Congrats to you too Robert by the way on that runner-up achievement), Larry has contributed countless hours of behind the scenes work. In the early days of my tenure as Webmaster, he worked with me trying to establish a regular multiplayer flight night here at SPA (we may try again sometime). Larry has jumped around from hub assignments at the request of hub managers wishing to increase their activity.
Most recently, of course, you all know him as our Special Operations/Bush Operations Manager in charge of that very busy and popular hub. Even I'm attracted to his Earhart Tour, and soon after the Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn Mississippi River Adventure. I'm torn between flying these wonderful flights and uploading Larry's many other flights he's developed for us to fly here at SPA.
Anyway, I've worked so closely with Larry for a number of years now that I really consider him a friend - not just a virtual acquaintance. He is truly an integral part of our SPA Management Team, and with his many years of service and many hours of behind the scenes work to keep things fun and exciting here at SPA - I believe he is truly deserving of this award.
Please join me in congratulating Larry Chew on his receiving this richly-deserved award.
