Hah...no, that's not necessary. Just didn't want you to miss part of the adventure.

Hi john
got my wife to let stay at the computer for this fight so will be eating super here <img src="tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif" alt="smile"> Anyways started out don't know why your flight plan went to 17000 ft but I only went 11000. Got near Mount Sanford off to the right of the flight path and got a aurora borealis really bright can see why if they where off course they my not had seen the mountain. I guess Rex HD must the the aurora texture. OK more later hope fsx keeps running.A agree with Steve hope more people try these makes for and interest past time Keep up the good work.

Thanks Jim, Tell your wife I'm sorry that flight got so long, I'll try to make shorter 'hops' in the future. It was too long for me too. You could always save your flight in FSX and then manually file your pirep based on accumulated time. Actually, if the online research was correct, the Aurora Borealis was a default effect in earlier versions of FSX, but was not seen in FSX unless manually applied. I manually applied it to that area, but had to create a new version of the effect that included the 3D effect of the vertical light shafts dropping down from the bright green base so that it matched that shown on the cover of the book (and what I'm accustomed to seeing on the rare occasions I can see it from the city. I don't believe REX (or AS Next in my case) affects the appearance. After I put my plane on autopilot and was past the Mount Sanford special effects, I went up and ate dinner and let my 'copilot' fly until it was time for me to take over controls and land <img src="tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif" alt="embarassed">. I did have to restart the sim once early on due to FSX freezing, but SPAACARS Resume button function allowed me to restore my flight to where it had froze up and I was able to complete the original flight as far as SPAACARS was concerned.
I'm already hard at work on AP3 and it's coming along nicely, but slowly as I add new features and learn new things and new tools to implement them.

That's great Jim! The last part is easier I think - but perhaps longer because of the flight back to Gulkana. Now you just have to follow the line of caribou from East Landing Zone up the correct glacier to the Cub Valley Landing Zone. Note: You'll "run out of caribous" before you get to the landing zone, but watch again for the campfire smoke - fly low, keep to the left side of the 'glacier valley' while watching to your right (it will be on the right side of the glacial valley. After landing there, fly again by following the next line of caribou farther up the glacier - but not very far at all, and they pretty much take you right to the debris field. Land there and get some picture, then take off and head back to Gulkana to complete the adventure - that's all part of AP23 (that last segment of the adventure). As for pictures - I can set up an album for you, but the upload process can be a pain due to antiquated java applet upload process. We can get that working for you as well <img src="tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif" alt="laughing">.
