Thanks Steve,

Yes, I've been playing with the DC-4 I included with this adventure, but didn't upgrade sound pack. I like that the operational information is a bit simplified, as I don't want to have to learn a complex payware just for this adventure. The auto pilot is also a bit difficult to master, as it uses the various keyboard commands, but these are listed in the kneeboard section and readily available. I've also included the Northwest livery and the DC-4 in the zip file, which really adds to some nice photos for the first episode of the adventure (I'll wait to share until you or others do so as not to spoil anything). The DC-4 may appear in another adventure too, so it's worth getting familiar with on this adventure.

Oh...and this scenery should also work with the default fsx and orbx. Actually made on default, as that's what my test system has, so the orbx stuff makes come of the landings a bit more tricky.

Congrats Steve! Yeah - that first leg is a killer - oops, no pun intended. I didn't realize the distance involved or I might have shortened that, but perhaps its good to know what it was like back then. I too toughed it out yesterday, and also had an unusual FSX freeze just before ORT, but fortunately SPAACARS Resume button worked and I continued to the destination without further incident. It was kind of weird taxiing safely to the gate knowing that the real flight was in ruins back at Mount Sanford. I'll post my pics after yours. Oh, and I managed about an hour better time, but I used default clear weather in FSX that had no wind. Make sure to thin that mixture or you might as well walk to Edmonton. Perhaps you had a bit of a headwind.

The rest of the adventure will race by unfortunately, but that's ok, I'm already poking around at SPA3.

It's a tough landing although I don't recall rocks and hills as much as trees or bushes. Still, I think I was able to land south of the site and taxi up to it. I'll have to take another shot at it now and see. This was a tough one because I had to move it to work for fsx default and orbx. Also, the crash site was actually hiked to on foot from Cub Valley, so landing there is only possible in the virtual world. I'll give the east landing zone a try now.

I just completed AP22 and it worked fairly well I thought. I just followed the Sanford river from Gulkana, around the north side of Mount Drum and then flew just bit above the trees until I saw the campfire for East Landing Zone campsite. From this approach you are landing again on a fairly north-south line, my heading was 150 as I flew on final just over the campsite, touching down in the clearing past the campsite. I then just turned around and taxied back to the campsite. I think a reciprocal heading would work for an opposite side (south) approach, then you would just continue forward to the campsite. No rocks or hills for me - just trees to avoid. Make sure you didn't change your mesh settings outside of what Orbx recommends - I think it's 5m. I changed this and found the landing strip at Whittier all eroded, bumpy and hilly. The help on their forum steered me right by having me set my mesh back to 5m (I think that's the setting).

Yes...I have SAK, Global, Vector, and I believe the latest updates - including the one that takes away the hybrid mode for the SAK and other regionals - but still implements them I believe. Oh, and I flew pretty much a steady 188 Kts on AP21. Hopefully you didn't stray too far off the flight plan route line on the leg from PAGK to ORT (and flew with settings on night) or you might have missed the special effects.
