Well then, you're good to go!! I just wanted to make a point for everyone that might read this thread.
Thanks for flying on VATSIM by the way. I haven't been on there in a long time. Maybe we could schedule a flight on VATSIM Cillian...?

I like the idea of a VATSIM fly-in for our VA. Let's get together on this and compare notes and tips.
Let's use the private chat features too.

Here is the link to the VATSIM web site: Click Here

The Minneapolis sector is hosting a VATSIM event on November 14th. I don't think we will all be ready for that one. But, you can be there virtually and monitor the activity if you are not confident about flying on VATSIM right now. Here is a link to the Minneapolis VATUSA web page: Click Here
I suggest that you get very familiar with the above web sites and pages. You may even want to purchase some charts and learn how to read them.
We can start by doing our VATSIM flights around the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to get familiar with the ATC airspace and procedures there.
Your mission for now is to read everything in the new pilot section. Here is the link: Click Here
We don't want any surprises while flying on VATSIM. Remember, if you agree to do something the controller tells you to do, then it is considered a verbal contract. It's like if we do not pay attention to the stop lights on the road, then there are consequences.

I agree with Rev...it can be quite intimidating to fly on VATSIM at first!! but I always feel a sense of satisfaction anytime i do fly!!! one piece of advice i would give to people who are thinkin of starting out is that it might be worth fyling slow aircraft at first!! I don't do a lot of VATSIM flying but i find it easier to fly something like the Beech 1900d or the Saab340 as apposed to a faster Jet because everything happens at a much slower rate!
I wont be able to make this event next wednesday I'm afraid!! it's too late in the evening for me...and it's the middle of the week!!! but enjoy, those of you who do fly!!

edited by: tbone-guy, Nov 06, 2007 - 08:45 PM
