I just flew it. Full approach with wx of 6000 ovr and 5 miles in an MD80. Very interesting! :konfus:

I just flew it too. Fair weather.

Mike, good news, read below:

Aircraft flew 767, touch down speed 130 kts, 30 flaps. Right on the center line (swear to God), stopped in the middle of the runway. 8-)

Piece of cake.

Ok, let's do SAT 1500Z to suit Mike and Paul Deans.

Thanks.

Naresh,

Heck, I can't put the Cessna 172 reliably on the center line at MSP; you've got me hopelessly outclassed. But, I'll show up Saturday in something, I'm thinking of the FSX ultralight. I should be able to get that stopped in 6000' ;-)

Mike

P.S. I can make 1500Z on Sat; I can't make 1800Z. I can make either on Sun.

On second thought: I gave it a try in clear weather with the Level D 763 and you're right, it is a piece of cake - maybe easier than the C172. I forgot how good the systems on that A/C are. Of course, that was a straight-in approach, well below the approved glide slope that would be required in IMC and without having to fly a VFR racetrack around the strip to set her down. We'll see how it goes under those conditions. :astalavista:

Ok, gents, Sat 1500Z then. I will update the events calendar too.

Mike, I knew you could do it. :-D

I tried with 6000 ovr, 5 m vis, it was a hoot. I lost track of VOR on approach trying to visually locate the runway, but made it safely on the runway.

Pics posted.
