We don't all need to fly the same airplane.
As a matter of fact, we don't all need to depart the same airport.
If flying a jet to KMDW, then use a departure point about 400nm away:> Like KPIT; KCRW; KBNA; KMEM; KMCI, or KMSP.
If flying a turbo-prop use 200nm:> KTDW; KDAY; KSTL, or KDSM etc.

As long as we all fly to the same destination and arrive at about the same time it should be fun > it also depends on how many of us are involved.

What do you guys think?

Jerry

Jerry, I LOVE that idea! We just need a time to "meet" in MDW.

Actually, the guys could depart from any distance they wish as long as they arrive at KMDW (Midway) at about 1600Z.

If you post what you will fly and from where you will depart here in this thread then others that may wish to join you will know where to find you.

What do you think? This will require good flight planning.

We could all download MS real wx, and that way we'll all be flying in the same conditions.

What say you SPA Wing-Nuts??????

I like the idea Jerry.

If everything works out ok, 'Amateur' ATC service will be provided for Chicago Center and MDW Tower. This will be a great training tool for those who would like to try VATSIM ('professional ATC service' :drevil: ) in the future.

Here are some of the pictures:

SPA301 getting clearance:

SPA301 instructed to fly to BAE VOR via J101 airway:

SPA301 on Eau Claire MSP STAR for rwy 30R:

ATC vectoring SPA301 to FAF for rwy 30R:

SPA301 on LOC:

SPA301 cleared to land 30R:

This was just a test flight I did with Bob.

Let me know if you guys are interested, Jerry and I can provide ATC.

Thanks.

I t looks to me like the original plan has been rejected. I understand that the consensus is that we will depart from any airport in any type of aircraft as long as we arrive at KMDW at 1600 UTC. Is that correct?

Correction: After working with Jerry and Naresh today, I would like to amend my last post. It was agreed that if you need assistance connecting to our servers or filing your flight plan, then you should meet at Kansas City (KMCI). We can then talk to you through Teamspeak and tell you how to connect and file your flight plan all together as a group.
