It was great to see Steve Asp, Steve Lutgen, Anthony Mckay, & Mike Foster again. We had a great time together. Driving to Duluth in a compact car, thanks to Steve Lutgen for not fixing his van which seats seven comfortably, was about 3 hours but the time flew. We were in Duluth in no time.

Steve Lutgen found us a parking spot at the Fedex office at the airport. The event parking probably cost some money, and the headache of getting in and out of the parking lot was saved by our very own Lutgen's bright idea. He showed his Fedex ID card to the guard who was guiding crazy people at the show to here and there. By the way, we were worried that Steve Lutgen might get arrested right on the spot, because his picture on his ID looked like the one from the FBI's most wanted list, Al Zarqawi. Fortunately, the guard did not even look at the ID but made a comment, 'you fedex guys are all the same'.

None of us knew what he meant by that but we were happy he stopped the crowds and let us through to the fedex office. We parked there and headed to the show.

My impression was that the air show was supposed to start 11am. We got there around 1045 and the show had already begun!! As were standing in line to buy tickets we saw the B2 bomber. I have to say that everybody there in line was awestruck. It was out of this world. It looked like a spaceship from Independence Day movie. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures. I was that awed. :-O

We also met one of our SPA pilots, Lt. Col. Gary Chambers at the show. He was of course in the uniform with his crew for C-130, one of the static displays at the show. It was great to meet his crew and his wife Marilyn who outranks him. She is a full colonel. 8-)

I'd love to go through all the details but I'm afraid, I do not have time for that at the moment. One thing worth to note here though is that we got to see THE one and only Patty Wagstaff. This was my first time seeing her performance live.

Isn't she a bombshell?

Cutting a ribbon inverted with her tail.

Patty's Extra 300s that is featured in MSFS.

She has been featured in MSFS default planes in FS2002, FS2004 and upcoming FSX. Maybe earlier versions of MSFS too, but I can't verify that.

Steve Lutgen, Steve Asp, Anthony Mckay and Mike Foster enjoying the show.

Yeti looks more like Tora Tora Tora

The featurette Thunderbirds were kindda disappointment at least for Steve Lutgen and me. Maybe it was because of the ceiling level being too low for them to perform some of their stunts. They only performed a few aerobatics and that's it.

Three cheers to Steve Lutgen for organizing this event for us and thanks a ton to Steve Asp for driving us to the show. Very much appreciated folks.

Anthony, Steve Asp, Steve Lutgen and myself have uploaded pictures of the air show in our gallery. Please feel free to view them. :-D
