Please check this notice on their web site when considering buying this tigerdirect bargain basement unit:

"Important Info About Barebones Computer Kits
Our money-saving Barebone Computer Kits gives you the opportunity to build or upgrade your perfect computer at an affordable cost, by installing key components yourself. Most components included in our Barebones Kits, including power supplies, are not pre-assembled (mounted and connected in the case). With Barebones Kits, where we include a case and a separate power supply, the case specifications may not indicate the presence of an attached power supply (simply because it is a separate component). This is also because you must install the included power supply yourself."

Also read the notice about a missing CPU cooling fan. That is required, but you need to purchase and install it yourself.

And, also note that this unit does not come with an installed operating system. You will have to purchase VISTA or XP and install it yourself.

I agree with you cobalt, but sometimes tigerdirect has better deals than newegg, after rebate. Last time I purchased my vid card from tigerdirect. Newegg had the same vid card for over $150 more. It all depends on your luck. :-D

The one thing I like about barebones, is that you do not have shop around for parts that fit the system. Most of the main parts are already included with it. Of couse, they all come separate in their retail boxes, nevertheless, you are for sure, the part is compatible with the system. You just need to know how to follow the instructions in the manuals. :-D

For those who want to buy a whole system with pre-installed OS, by all means go for it. More power to you.
