That's great news Eric, thanks! I'll certainly give that a try.

Interestingly, I'm doing a test flight now to test your latest discovery but the plane climbed to FL390 without issue and no rocking. Very strange.

Its got to be a glitch then. I let the rocking back and forth continue for a while until the aircraft almost rolled over trying to see if it would correct itself. Disabled SEC1 and it leveled right out.

Fixed in today's update according to the release notes on today's patch.

Also, note from real-world A320 pilot (320 Sim Pilot on Youtube):

"The rocking issue is a glitch in Microsoft Flight Simulator, hopefully yesterdays patch fixed it. The autopilot behaviour in MSFS is still lacking but the flybywire mod is certainly making great strides towards improving it. The flight control computers should all be left on during the entire flight (no white or amber lights on the overhead panel), in the real aircraft we never turn them off even on the ground unless there is a fault with one. I hope this helps and fingers crossed the MSFS Airbus is now a bit more stable!".

This guy's videos are great. Check them out if you have a chance.

I'll have to check this out. The last flight I attempted in the A320 was a disaster. I couldn't make it to cruise, the aircraft was uncontrollable and I ended up using Alt+F4 just to get out of it as fast as I could (I was beyond frustrated).

I'll check this out today and see if there is any improvement.

Eric,

I've been having pretty good luck lately with the A320, but I'm also using the A320NX free addon that enhances the default model. Several things on recent flights. First, I had the unfortunate rocking this morning on flight to KABQ from KMSP, although not as drastic as before the patch that was supposed to fix it. As you suggested, disabling the flight computer stopped the rocking.

On another note, there's been a recent bug with the nav data whereby the ILS frequency is no longer automatically added (at least with the copilot control of radios as I fly). After missing several ILS landing I finally did some checking both on line and by checking the MCDU and verified this was an issue. After manually entering the ILS frequency into the MCDU the ILS works as it should.

Lastly, watch your angle of attack when in cruise mode. If it's sitting up around 10 degrees, you'll likely not get to FL380 or FL390. Make sure when you adjust your weight and balance you view it in the Flight planning screen and not in the dropdown menu after you load your flight. Only the flight planning screen version of the weight and balance will show the center of gravity. Today's flight I kept the COG near the front of the plane and it kept the plane more level and climbed to FL380. It's possible though that it was not related to the COG, but due to the fact that I was flying into a headwind whereas yesterday I had a tailwind.

The landing of this bird is still very sensitive. Even with a softer landing I can still get my passengers to scream and get an Econ mode penalty. I think this usually happens when I hit a bit hard and bounce back up, or when - while flaring, I end up with the nose bouncing up and down right before touchdown.
