NEW PILOTS
This is a tutorial for all New Pilots who join St Paul Airways. It is not ment to be a do as I say, it is here to help you on your way to a fun time with SPA.
First things first, when you apply to join us i suggest that you have an understanding of how to download our aircraft and install them into your flight simulator. Also you have a basic knowledge off installing panels, which are better than flying with the stock panels that come with flight simulator.
Those two problems out of the way it is time for you to put in your application to join one of the best VAs on the web.
Below is your application form

Your Contact Information
Please enter your full name:
What is your current email address:
Note: A confirmation email will be sent to you once we process your application.

Helpful Information
Select your virtual airline flight experience:
Please note: this means actual time logged while in the employ of a established Virtual Airline that has been operating or that operated for at least one year. We do not consider "accrued simulator time," or any other hours logged outside of a Virtual Airline framework.
If over 50 hours VA time, please provide a link to your VA roster where we can verify your flight time:

Note: We do not grant you more than 400 hours of verifiable flight time towards your rank, but the remainder of your verified flight hours will become "banked" hours in your personnel record.
Select the flight simulator that you currently use:
How did you find out about us?

Why did you choose to apply to our virtual airline?

If you are or have you ever been in an executive or management position with another VA, then please state the titles you held and the nature of the duties that you performed:

KDFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth)
KDEN (Denver)
KIAD (Washington D.C.)

DISCLAIMER: Pilots are assigned according to the needs of the airline. We will consider hub preference, but we cannot guarantee any particular hub assignment.

New Pilots are required to complete one flight assignment per week.
Please read our Standard Operation Procedures. If you agree, then click on the submit button to send your application to our human resources department.
Please note: We reserve the right to remove you from the roster without notice if you do not contact your hub manager within seven days of your hire date or fail to file your first PIREP within 10 days of your hire date.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this application. I appreciate your interest in joining our virtual airline. You will be receiving our acceptance email soon. It will contain the information about your assigned hub. And, it will also have your Pilot ID which you will need to maintain your own logbook.

Vice President of Human Resources,
Saint Paul Airlines
Once your application has been approved and you have recived your Pilot ID you will be contacted by your Hub Manager of the hub that you have been assigned to. Your Pilot ID will be required to fill in your Pirep [more on that later]. You will also require it for the web site.
All the new pilots have to first apply to join SPA through Human Resources. They can do so in the main introductory page by clicking on 'Joinus Today'. I wll add another link in the main menu too.
Then if his application is accepted, HR will notify the webmaster and he will create an account to access to this website. The new pilot will get all his login credintials and his pilot ID number in his welcome letter by HR.

O k so now that you have made contact with your Hub Manager via e-mail and he has welcomed you to your Hub the next thing is to get your assignments.
Assignments
Go to the main menu on the left of the screen scroll down until you see Pilots Lounge, click on Entre Pilots Lounge, there you will find a wealth of information. What we are looking for is [No9 box] Get your Assignments click on this and if your hub manager as issued your assignments you will see them there.
While you are at the pilots lounge have a look round get to know the place as you will be going back there a few times.
As you will be starting you flying career flying on our B1900D or Jetstream go to the Aircraft Fleet and download these aircraft, you need to go back to the pilots lounge and click on {No22 box} click on this box then click on Passenger were you will find the above aircraft.
May I suggest that you print out your hub schedule so you have it for easy reference .Also before you start your flight you fill out a flight planning form or on a sheet of paper put down fuel amount, time you started your engines, and the weather report from ATIS. Then when you have flown your flight put down fuel remaining, time engines closed down, and again the weather at your destination.
Then with all this information you can fill in your pirep form, which is straight forward enough.

This is an example of a filled in pirep form which you can see is easy enough to fill in.A weather report would look like this KDEN 234/13 23sm few4560 sct7800 12/06 3002. KLAX 096/3 15sm CLR 22/16 3010 Just write down what ATIS says, this off course is if you use real world weather.
If you flew a Charter flight then where it says HUB you would click on CHR a trg flight would be TRG and so on.
Training Department
This is the most important place on our site, here you will find all your Training flights as well as the Procedure flights and what everbody likes the Line check flights. So go back to the pilots lounge, “I told you we will be comeing back here” and click on [box 18] which opens up the training department.
Click on welcome and you will see what our training manager Mr Anthony Mckay has to say please read this as it will help you understand a lot of what flying is all about.
Have a look at the TN8900{a-e} New Pilots Course and fly it a couple of times and fill in your pirep after.Next the Procedure flights and the Line Check flights, which you have to fly to gain promotion, just don’t forget to fill in your Pirep after each flight.
A lot of hard work as been done to help you on your way so read as much as you can, if you don’t understand anything drop an e-mail to the trg guy and he will put you right.
Charter Flights

After you have flown 20hrs you can fly our charter flights which our charter guy has put together.Capt Jerry. At the moment we are flying round the world and are in Manila in the Philippines, at the time of writing this tutorial. These flights gives us a chance to fly in different countries and see a lot more of our virtual planet and fly some great aircraft at the same time.
I hope you get something out of this tutorial and it helps you to understand the ways and means of this VA. Come and join us for a great and fun time here at St Paul Airways and who knows one day you could be flying the real thing.
