Hey
Just wondering if anyone has tried out the new 737NG panel by paul scarratt available on avsim?? I downloaded it about a month ago but it's only in the last day or two that i've started to really give it a go!! it is quite a comprehensive panel. It has no FMC but it seems (not that i'm an expert) that most other systems are simulated on it - not bad for a freeware Panel
Now, my question...I have read through the operations manual and i think I'm doin everything ( and getting the hang of it pretty quick if i do say so myself) however one thing is puzzling me because there is no mention of it in the Manual and that is that after about15-20 minutes into a flight the radios stop workin!! i've tried a few different flights at different altitudes and different places but everytime...after i reach cruising altitude and am there for a while i can't hear anything from ATC, my autopilot cuts out, and i cant tune any radios!! but ATC are stilling tryin to get through to me and the atc window is telling me to respond to instructions that i'm not recieving...then my flight plan gets cancelled!!
Could this be a bug that exists in the panel or might i be forgetting something??? Any suggestions would be welcome...

Rev, the altitude hold is exactly like that in a real DC-4. It keeps the old pilots awake! Just kidding. Sorry, can't tell you why it is doing that to you.
Cillian, I do not have that panel but I believe Dave Raine has that panel. I think he might help you out on this.
Thanks.

Rev...its the just the altitude hold that i use but the whole autopilot switches off and then becomes completely unresponsive and i cant get it back on!!! I cant see any warning lights to indicate that a system has failed so i dunno whats's going on?

I tried this panel and it looks good, but I like the FeelThere PIC panel better. This 737NG panel crashed my antique computer.
tbone, you might want to turn off the APU after you start your engines. Also, check to make sure that you have switched the electrical generator from the APU to the engine.

edited by: Robert_Thompson, Aug 25, 2007 - 09:06 PM

Bob...i had turned the APU off...but...i didn't close the APU bleed vlve...could that be the reason...i had been starting flights with this panel with the engines off and going through the start up procedure. i tried starting wih engines on to see if it was set p differently. thats the only difference i found! i didn't get a chance to try another flight yet...laer today maybe???
