FS2024 - A more optimistic view. was created by jer029
Okay, so I swore that I would wait before buying this until all the bugs were worked out. I made the mistake of watching more youtube videos about it, and the videos from A320 Sim Pilot convinced me that it was worth a try, and he's running it on a gaming laptop!
Here's his videos of the sim test of all the planes available on the premium deluxe version:
Anyway, I installed it this morning and played with it for most of the morning. Here's what I learned:
The upload and install took a bit of time, but not unreasonable.
Loading of the sim takes considerably longer than MSFS2020.
Most planes worked fairly well for A320 Sim Pilot except for the 747 versions. I flew the A320 Neo and TBM 930 without notable issues.
There's a learning curve because the key shortcuts are totally different than FS2020.
After the install, the program suggested that my system could handle the "ultra" settings (very happy about that), and the framerates seem to be reasonable without too much annoying stuttering. My system is as follows:
I guess that's enough for a start, but I'm cautiously optimistic about this simulator and I think it's worth pilots with higher end systems to go ahead and open their wallets. Oh...and for those who are wondering - I bought the Aviators version, so I'm all in and hoping to see this be my final sim purchase .
Happy flying,
John

I reinstalled 2024 the other night, but for some reason, it’s still unplayable for me. Even when I set the graphics settings to low, I’m getting single-digit frame rates, and the game struggles to load world objects at all. I gave up trying to run it again, and while standing still, not moving the camera, I’m getting just 7 frames per second. The vehicles driving around the apron appear as blurry blocks, and latency is showing over 300 ms.
I ran an internet speed test, and it showed 232 Mbps down and 305 Mbps up. So, it’s not an internet issue, and my PC seems fine, which makes it hard to understand what’s causing the problem. After looking through the official forums, I see I’m not the only one facing these issues. In fact, it seems to be even worse now than when I first tried the game in the week or two after its release.
At this point, I’m not sure where to go from here other than waiting it out and hoping that future patches will address these problems.

Sorry to hear you're still having problems that extreme. I was going to suggest the reinstall, because I learned about doing this from a different video podcast. Apparently the early adopters may have had some bad files. He suggested making sure to delete things from the registry besides just reinstalling.
This video explains it, and details the folder you want to look for and delete before reinstalling:
On other news, SPAACARS seems to work with the G-force, so most things seem to work for Econ Mode with the new sim. The flight plan issue will have to wait - and hopefully FSUIPC will make updates that will link that back up so I can access. Otherwise, I think I have the location of the flight plan files, but they are in the "users.<your user name>... folder. Since I can't get each user's user name, I might need to have the user locate it and save it to the SPAACARS folder like I do with the spa.ini file location.
Good luck.
John

What's even more frustrating is that I'm currently flying in FS2020 with graphics set to ultra, same aircraft, same airport as 2024 and my fps is steady around 125.
I'm going to try cleaning the registry and a restart after I'm done with this current flight.
