I too have read it. There are so many of those great stories out there and its not necessarily the heroics. As I read, it brought back memories of early morning flight lines where the sun hasn't yet decided if it should rise or not, just the light growing in the east, the smell of the aircraft, our joking as we loaded the ship and started to make plans on the other end for a good night out. Those were fond memories of many good people which made active duty flying so special. I'm glad the man's son pieced together one of so many stories his Dad probably told him.
