Hey all,

MY computer crashed thursday. I have been looking at a HP 15.4'', 250 gb, 3gb ram with intel centrino T5750 core duo. I was going to get it for about $679.99 but they raised the price. I am loking to spen around that price but get a nice laptop. I love the Centrino processor but the AMD seems to be cheaper. Would I be going wrong with an AMD. I am using FS9. Any help would be great.

That's a tight budget to work with, but check out newegg.com and see what they have to offer for the money.

I'm sorry to hear about your computer problem Eric. Looks like you are planning on buying a laptop, since you travel a lot. I am assuming you still have the job that takes you to the Carribean!

Anyway, my suggestion to you is to go with Centrino. I think at least a couple of our guys, Mike and Eric E have laptops that they use for MSFS.

One more thing to keep in mind is that get a laptop with at least a descent video card.

Please keep us updated.

Cobalt, good to hear that you got a new system. Mind sharing what you got?

it was one of the barebones kits that we talked about in a past thread..and was one of the best ways to go took some time to put togeather but its worth it.. the only thing i had to pick out was the vid card..as i had the OS and other things like the DVD rom and such already...but other kits have those included

edited by: Cobalt, Aug 13, 2008 - 12:22 AM
