I'm using an extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY old Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick. I had to go in and manually assign every single button and control surface function but it works perfectly. I do plan on upgrading and was going to do so sooner, but with the myriad of problems with MSFS right now, I'm holding off.

Eric, I managed to get a new Pro Flight Yoke in Ebay for about $140 and I am bidding on a set of pedals for about €75. I did see some X52 joysticks on offer, but they were really expensive...

The X52's on Amazon are going for $260 and the Pro Flights are right at $244, so they're pretty comparable. Haven't checked Ebay but I've been wanting something more along the lines of the X52.

This forum might be of help:
Flight Stick Tips.
I found out how to set the aileron and elevator sensitivity in FS2020. I suggest you look into that also. It was explained by doing a web search. FS2020 allows you a lot of options for assigning buttons and switches on your flight controller, and this is a real convenience.

I am using the Thrustmaster T.16000M joystick and a Saitek throttle controller. The joystick is reversible. I use the joystick with my left hand and the throttle controller with my right hand, like airplanes are set up. I tried the Honeycomb yoke, was not my favorite. I also have the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke and pedals with the throttle controller. I prefer the Joystick.

I have the H.O.T.A.S X52. It can be configured for three different sims. For instance, FS2020, Star Citizen, and Farm Simulator. All three would have different button settings. I would just need to dial in the correct defined settings for each sim with one dial on the flight stick.
