We have just finished making some changes to our procedures and our website that you all should be aware of.
Code Share Flights: We have modified the rules for flights with our code share partner, Tasman Airways. The new rules can be found by clicking on the "Code-Share Agreement" link in the left hand column on the home page. If you have completed one regular, assigned MSP Hub flight in the last thirty days and you would like to do one or more Tasman flights, let me know and I will add them to your assignments. You do not need to be routed to KLAX to fly these flights, but if you are flying category six or seven aircraft and would like to fly to KLAX and then across the Pacific to Sydney or Auckland, let me know and I will make appropriate assignments to get you there. You will find a link to the Tasman schedule by going to the "Flight Schedules" link on the Pilot's Office/Lounge page. Just remember that you are required to fly an aircraft in the category appropriate to your rank. When you post your PIREP, file it under the TAS Hub.
New Cat 1 and 2 Schedules. We have decided to add a new Hub at Miami (MIA). This will give our pilots access to interesting new flights in the Carribean and some warm, dry weather for a change. We haven't yet decided whether or not pilots will be assigned to that Hub, so more on that later. Brian Rush has working on new Cat 1 and 2 schedules for both MIA and MSP and he's done a great job. This is very hard, detailed work and Brian has put in a lot of time making these schedules for us and I think that you will find them interesting. For the time being, we will treat the MIA flights just like the Tasman Code Share flights discussed above. That is, if you have completed your regular assigned MSP Hub flight for the month and would like to head south to some sunnier weather, let me know what you would like to do and I will assign you MIA flights accordingly . You can find the MIA flights by clicking on the "Flight Schedules" link on the Pilot's Lounge page. Again, you must be qualified to fly the aircraft you choose, but that won't be much of an issue, as these are all Cat 1 and 2 flights. Finally, the change in the Cat 1 and 2 schedules for MSP is going to cause a little disruption for those of you currently flying assigned Cat 1 and 2 flights out of the MSP Hub. I will be looking at your assignments and making appropriate changes. I will try to avoid assigning you flights between city pairs you have already completed, but you may find yourself repeating a flight number you have already done. Don't worry, this will be a different city pair and it will count for PIREP time. Post you PIREP under the MSP Hub until we officially add the MIA Hub to the list of options on the drop down menu list.
Well, that's a lot of detail. If you have any questions, you can respond here, or drop me a PM or E-mail.
