SPAACARS10.7 Update (Autosave fix)

Pilots,

I've made corrections to the current download for 10.7 to fix the autosave problem. You don't need to download or reinstall again if already done, but that will fix things too now.

To manually fix the autosave, you need only to open the file in the SPAACARS folder called SPAACARS.cfg. Double-click should open the file so you can see the settings.

When I originally uploaded, I must have used an old cfg file that did not contain autosave data, "savemins=3", necessary (the time interval for saving). So, you need to add that line:

<div><span >savemins=3</span></div>
<div><span >autosave=false</span></div>
<div>
The line "savemins=3" must be added to the file (don't put quote marks in there though). Then resave the file. Then the autosave option should work without crashing SPAACARS.

Sorry for this mixup. Let me know of questions or problems.

No Terry,

The "autosave=false" (or "true"). Changes automatically depending upon if you check or uncheck the "Autosave" option in the settings menu of SPAACARS. Generally, I have the default set for 3 minutes, but there is no menu settings to adjust the save time - so it must be done manually by altering the "savemins" value in the config file in a text editor.

In the case of 10.7 I put the wrong (older version) of the config file in the download so that line with the "savemins" was missing completely. When SPAACARS looked for the value of "savemins", it couldn't find it so ended up with an null value that caused the program to crash. It did however remember the "autosave=true" setting, so would try to implement that and crash on restart of the program unless you added the "savemins" line or changed the autosave to "false" so that the program could restart without trying to initialize the "autosave".

Sorry...probably too much information, but it was all caused by a relatively simple mistake (and hasty coding that wouldn't gracefully exit if the error occurred).

So...in short no...that line was just copied along with the missing line in question when I posted it in the forum.

Hi John, I updated to 10.7. The settings tab isn't active so I can only change the setting in the cfg file is that correct or do I need to reload again?

Bill, the settings tab is active before you start logging. Once logging starts, you cannot change settings. Do any changes before clicking the Start Logging button. If you just downloaded the latest 10.7 I've corrected the missing line in the cfg file and you can change anything in the settings menu and it should not crash the SPAACARs program. If the Cfg file has the "savemins" line in it than no additional edits need to be made unless you wish to change the default value of "3" for savemins.
