Maybe not really a newsletter, but I try.

First off, I hope everyone had a great “Holiday Season”. I took last month off so hopefully this won’t be too long.

Now for the usual boring stuff. We managed to rack up 344.5 hours of flight time, flew a total of 173 flights and burned up 2,554,961 pounds of fuel. SPA295, a.k.a. Paul Schirmer, flew the most. He had the time to complete 15 flights last month totaling 28 hours. Paul has only been with us for 2 months and man, is he wearing out our aircraft! Thanks a bunch Paul!

Next, the feedback that I so politely requested. I have only received about 4 emails and those were from folks like me that have been here forever and a day. I really would like some more feedback from our folks so if you have 5 minutes to spare, please punch out an email with anything that might be on your mind regarding SPA and send it off to This email address is being protected from spambots. There was one question that I received that I will address now. Flight schedules. I understand that this has taken forever but we have a brand spanking new schedule that we are about to publish. Currently SPA has a total of 333 main line flights (not including Cargo flights). The new schedule that is currently under review has over 500 scheduled flights for SPA alone and has finally strayed away from the A-B-A format. The other great thing about this schedule is that it strengthens our relationship with our partners at Tasman Airways (tasmanairways.com/) in that you will soon be able to file flights for both SPA and Tasman AND that there will be the possibility of a hub opening up in Los Angeles (KLAX). More on this at a later date so keep your eyes and ears open. Pending final review and approval, the new schedules should be posted sometime late in February or early March. Oh, and a big thank you to Brian Rush for all of his work on the new schedules.

Almost done folks. One thing that I think we need to fix is our banner. It still displays our old hubs and needs “sprucing up” in general. If anyone would like to put something together, please feel free to do so. Post them in the forum and we can all have a vote. Keep in mind when doing this (if anyone decides they want to) that SPA is turning 7 years old this year…

Bada bing, eh?!?! Done. Thanks a bunch to everyone for their hard work and thanks for reading this!

If anyone has any questions about anything, feel free to post them here in the forum, or you can send me an email. Here it is again: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
