Data base for the airports of the tour was mpmap from FlightGear and FSXmap (fsxmap.com/) which appears to have been updated with MSFS data.
I'm glad you try it despite missing airfields in P3d.
Thank you for the images, John, they do show the beauty of the country. Unfortunately I was amibitious enough to do the second leg last night with ugly life weather, hardly saw anything of the scenery, it was just enough to find BIVM:

Hah Oswald, yes...it was bad weather again today so I opted for clear weather so that I could see the view.  I don't think I'd have found the grass strip in bad weather also.  I've labeled the pics I posted in the gallery image but not this forum post of them.  I first came upon STRAUMSVÍK ALUMINIUM SMELTER and the photo of this distinctive factory looks the same in the simulator as the real life aerial view - as does many other things.  Unfortunately my saving of that photo didn't come through for some reason.  The photo-real scenery is wonderful and the detail as you can see on the hillside is fantastic.

I look forward to finding the other airports - as many as exist in the new MSFS.

I tried again today but encountered icing. I diverted to my alternate and called it a day.

Had to combine 902220 thru 902226 because trying to figure out when Iceland Tour flight numbers could be used vs 77112 numbers got a little too confusing for this old brain .

Since I always use current WX and current Season on my flights, I suppose I should have waited for late Spring to try this one.The old MILVIZ DH3T did pretty well considering the WX extremes and nasty winds.

I've only got two more cities that aren't in the DB left on the itinerary. I'll' probably finish this one up this weekend.

Hey Smitty,

Not sure about the confusion.  All the Iceland Tour numbers will be accepted as long as you use the listed Orig and Dest ICAO codes in the SPAACARS fields.  If you need to select an alternate airport for landing because you don't have the listed airport, just land at that destination, but keep the SPAACARS destination code as it is shown in the official schedule.  SPAACARS currently doesn't check to confirm that you're landing at the stated airport, so you can manually put the Orig and Dest codes in the SPAACARS fields to match the ones listed on the flight schedule - even if you intend to and actually land at a different airport.

However, you cannot put an alternate orig/dest airport code in SPAACARS while using the official flight number that expected the official orig and dest for that flight number.  In that case, you could use your personal user-defined flight code, but then it becomes just another user-defined flight, and not part of the Iceland Tour flights.  Therefore, the preference would be to use the first option (keeping the official Tour numbering and the listed Orig and Dest codes from the flight schedule even though you might actually be landing and taking off from a different airport).

Hopefully this makes sense.

John

TX John,

Wish I'd thought of that. Well, I've got two more tries to get it right before I finish the Tour.

Between trying to figure out the how to report the PIREP(s) and trying to work around our rather lacking internet feed in the center of the state is been a little annoying.

Seems the same sub contractor cut through the same fiber optics cable not once but twice in three days and took out our internet and telephone land line for three hours yesterday afternoon and almost 4 hours on Tuesday while trying to upgrade the service! Guess we know who the lowest bidder was.
