Good Morning from foggy Central Florida,

Just finished the Florida Tour this AM and really enjoyed the trip. TX for the kind words on the scenery. I use ORBX Global, Vector, ORBX Trees, ORBX Buildings, REX Environment Force, a Beta version and probably the ultimate culprit of problems below, and the Orlando city package. The Orlando really enhances the WDW area. It is quite detailed in the daylight hours. With that said, I have to admit that I had some rather interesting things happen when I added the SPA addon scenery to that mix.

I'm guessing that MORE isn't always BETTER. AS soon as I loaded the SPA scenery, my shaders in P3D4.5 got all screwed up and the dreaded "black boxes" appeared all over the place. I took all the normal steps after removing the SPA scenery, BTW great stuff, to fix the problem and kind of repaired everything.
I once again added the SPA.....same thing happened. Since I was determined to fly and document the Tour in the Gallery, I decided to hit all of the spots that begged for the SPA scenery and screen captured as much as I could. Then I again removed the SPA and flew the Tour. The only shots I took that were not the SPA addins were Daytona Speedway, WDW, shots of the Keys and Skyway Bridge in Tampa Bay. Only spot I simply could not get was the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse.

Hope you didn't mind my little side trip to KEYW. Wanted to get shots of the Keys and Dry Tortuga's but discovered that the old FSX scenery I had for Fort Jefferson in the Tortuga's won't work in P3D4.5. I'll finish the posts in the Gallery later this AM.

Great fun, great Tour.

Thanks for the information Smitty, yes...I obviously couldn't test my scenery addon with your many addons. I wouldn't be surprised if there was conflicts with other scenery, but fortunately - removing or deactivating the scenery should return things to normal, as there are no other changes made to the simulator other than adding some scenery and effects and removing same when you deactivate or delete it from your scenery library. My understanding with the black boxes is that that usually means a missing (or perhaps conflict with) a texture setting in the scenery. Not sure what happened there, but SPA scenery doesn't alter shaders.

Again, I'll have to add that scenery package as a possible purchase if I opt out of the new FS2020 due out this year.

I've added the FL Sightseeing Award to your Awards Page.

I did some updating on my orbx scenery while checking that Orlando City package. In addition to noting the new Orbx Central control that replaces the FTX Central Control - there were numerous updates that showed up after installing Orbx Central. This cleared up some scenery issues I was having with Open LC North America - although I had to uninstall and reinstall it after updating the aforementioned. Anyway - I noted that the Orlando City package is available for only $20 US if I read it correctly, so I might even have to pick that up before the FS2020 release.

Sometimes scenery problems can be fixed automatically in ORBX Central by going to HELP and running the "Sync Simulator" application.

Also, go to settings in ORBX Central and check out:

1 Enable Auto Updates
2. Libraries
3. Insertion Point

Good Luck?
