Pilots, for anyone having problems understanding the ADF, this might help:
This pic shows my plane and the proximity to the AM ADF with Freq of 388.
From your Sim menu open the radio panel and you will see the radio panel as shown in pic adf2.jpg. The dial in red circle is macro tuner to get near the frequency desired. The green circle is the fine tuner for tuning the exact frequency ( in our test it should be set to 388).The Yellow and blue circles will turn on the morse code audio. Turn the yellow knob on and turn the blue knob to ADF. This will provide audio when a ADF freq is active.
Pic adf3.jpg shows the radio panel with fine tuner set to 388. Notice that the Volume knob is turned on and the right-side knob that had the blue circle is now set to ADF. This will now play the morse code tone.
Pic adf4.jpg shows the console and the radio compass circled in orange. It is not active in this picture - the needle is horizontal.
Pic adf5 shows the active radio compass with the AM NDB (388) tuned in. You can see the needle now points to 310 degrees. If you look at the map again in pic adf1.jpg, you'll note that the NDB is in that direction from the aircraft location.
This test was done sitting on the runway, so you can do this without worrying about flying the plane.

Thanks Mike,
I see now that I failed to notice that my radio panel window was elongated - a result of my multi-monitor setup.
