I dunno, I find steering with the rudder pedals pretty natural. When I was a kid (admittedly some time back), may parents bought me a device called an "Irish Mail". It was a kind of vehicle like a tricycle or "Big Wheel", except that you sat on it and used a push-pull lever to make it go. But, you steered with your feet, just like a B747.
Thanks, Steve, for pointing out that we've all been missing the purpose of the 80 kt call-out, I suppose that the later "rotate" call-out is just in case you forgot. I plan to adopt your idea and I'm sure that all my flights will be a lot shorter.
