MAYDAY - Crash of the Century

Hi guys,

I just came across this video (Discovery channel documentary) and boy I did not know the true story behind this tragic accident. I must admit that I was very shocked at the behavior of the KLM captain. What an idiot!!

That's what I did, I watched this video at McDonald's while my kids were playing in the playground.

I have downloaded all of them and I will watch them when I can. I have MS Zune though, not IPOD.

Yeah that is one of the MOST famous avaition crashes. Anytimeyou study aviation this crash will be mentioned.

I understand this KLM Captain is no longer the spokesperson for their airline, nor on the cover of their magazine..

After watching several of these clips, man I'm severely traumatized. I'm now scared to board a plane.


One question for some of you:

When in the event of near collision, the TCAS system advises you a resolution, say 'Descend, Descend, Descend' and the controller instructs you to 'Climb, expedite NOW',

I think I'm going to stop watching these horrific tales for some time. I need a break to heal.
