On Central America tour I took the leg from MRLB to MROC (skipping MRPA which isn't represented in FlightGear) with an ancient DC 3 (I love this bird!). More or less uneventful flight until turn to long final when suddenly both engines stopped simultaneously. Retracted flaps to half hoping to reach the rwy on gliding, stalled and off the oldie went.

Sorry for the bad news on an SOP flight. I reckon due to flightsim magic my crew, pax and airplane will resurrect for the next flight ...

Hah Oswald. If this is your first fatal crash in years then you're doing better than a lot of us.

Those tough old DC-3's can take a beating, so it's best to just start looking for a flat, unobstructed place to land rather than stalling it out in an attempt to reach a runway unless there's one close enough that making it is almost a sure thing.

Final approach was over rainforest. The thing to do would have been obvious: Fly your airplane. Do not stall. Try to restart engines. If this doesn't work: Fly slowly with full flaps between the trees and hope for the best - all better than stalling into a spin 1000 ft AGL ...
