Navigraph Charts 8

I think many of us use Navigraph software to update the AIRAC in our aircraft FMS computers using Navigraph FMS Data Manager, to get current charts for our flight planning and execution using Navigraph Charts and, perhaps, for generating our flight plans and crew briefings using Navigraph's Simbrief.  If so, you have probably seen their announcement that they have just released a new version of their Charts software, Charts 8.  I downloaded the new software today and used it for my KMSP to KDSM fight this afternoon.  It's really quite amazing; a one stop shop for flight planning, sourcing flight charts and providing a zoomable (down to the runway level) map showing your flight plan and tracking your flight in real time.  It has other features I haven't used yet (real time weather, and incorporation of simbrief flight plans), but I think it will replace many of the tools I have been using.  Check it out.

Thanks Mike, I must have missed it. I have been regularly using Simbrief for flight planning (and fuel planning for Econ flight profit). For Econ, it allows me to plan the fuel including 45-min extra fuel load with most aircraft types represented. Then the Simbrief Downloader will download the plan for uploading to MSFS, and ultimately - into our SPAACARS program.

Better yet - several of my aircraft (A320 Neo and BAE 146 Professional) allow automatic flight plan and chart imports to the IPads on the plane's flightdeck. I can even use the Taxi charts to correctly find my way to and from the gates and the runways.

I'll have to look into this new offering, but I would not want to lose the integration I currently enjoy with these two planes.

Chili, I had the same experience with Java exceptions and "intuited" that uninstalling the older version might fix the problem - and it did.
