Officially known as The United States-Canada Boarder Tour this multi-leg (that's multi with a capital "M") adventure is another check on my Bucket List. The 64 leg challenge starts in Nanaimo just across the Straight of Georgia from Vancouver on the west coast of British Columbia. From there you straddle the border encountering mountains, valleys, beautiful flat lands , the Great Lakes, Niagara Falls ending up in St. John's International in Newfoundland.
It's a tour calling for aircraft that can handle short runways, grass and dirt runways and still be comfortable in rapidly changing WX and conjested big city airports. The longest leg is only 125.6 miles, the shortest is 30.8 with an average length of 61.2 miles over it's 3917.2 length.Might as well keep your jets, big and small, and high powered turbines in the hanger.
It's really strange to checkout a few of the fields with "International" designations in the northern plaines because part of the airport is in Canada, the rest in the USA. I guess customs and Immigration aren't really a problem when all you have to do is step over the center line of the runway to enter the country of your choice!!

Sound`s like you`ve enjoyed this cross-border tour between the two countries, Smitty. I did this flight so pilots can select a small or medium type aircraft to complete this tour. l plan to do it in a Cessna or Beaver myself. Sometimes doing something a little slower, it`s more time for someone to observe what`s out there. For me, it very fulfilling. It will be a similar flight with the North/South Brazil tour but a lot longer when John posts this tour in the near future.

Your right,I really enjoyed the tour. Next up I think is the Andes Mountains Tour. Might try to fly the whole thing in Quest Kodiak.
The Brazil sounds interesting too. I've flown an Amazon River tour or two in the past. Perhaps the ORBX South American LC will break up the CONSTANT green!

BTW: I discovered that the entire globe, at least in the Spring/Summer looks the same from FL350. That's what convinced me that low and slow Bush type and sightseeing flying was,at least for me, more interesting. Choppers and Amphibs are on the top of my list too.
