when acars doesnt record landing was created by jpc12785
i recall that sometimes i would have an issue with acars not recording my landing. I recall there was some sort of trick i used to know to make it catch up and record all the landing info. Maybe saving flight and restarting sim? can't seem to remember but I know i have worked through issue many times before

Jim,
Sorry you're still having problems with SPAACARS. As I indicated in the previous thread, earlier versions might not be accepted for uploading pireps to the website anymore, as the newer version is required because of important changes relate to Econ Module. That said, there remains an intermittent issue where SPAACARS thinks it's running, but is not recording the flight activity. I still can't duplicate the issue with enough regularity to identify and debug the problem. What I can say is that if you take off and the SPAACARS log page shows the takeoff, you're usually good for the rest of the flight.
I now regularly check my log just after takeoff to make sure it registered the takeoff before continuing a flight.
To answer your question about recording all the information. I'm not aware of such a feature with SPAACARS. The only thing that SPAACARS can do is be restarted after a flight sim crash and restart. The somewhat complex and uncertain process to recover is described in the instructions. This process is made more difficult due to the Econ Module and SPAACARS check to ensure the time and fuel is set correctly for your plane. This will cause an annoying popup message and alarm until you reset your fuel and time to the values shown in the popup window. Still, it can work sometimes - especially when it's not an econ flight an you just want to get your flight credits. Lastly, you can probably save flight data in text form using the File->Save menu to that you can refer to it for filing a manual PIREP on line at the Pilot's Office.
