John,
Just completed the Titanic adventure and I have to congratulate you on a fantastic job in creating it.

Making it in three legs was great and the aircraft carriers are very well done. I tried to install the cable arrestors utility but it did not want to install on my computer. However, that did not matter since I flew the Cessna 185 amphibian and I was able (with remarkable flying skills, if I have to say so myself!!) to land it on the carriers.

But the best part of the adventure is to depart at night toward the Titanic and to discover upon arrival a very impressive rendering of the sinking ship. Most notable are the chimneys releasing a huge amount of steam from the flooded engine room, all the lighted windows, the icebergs and even the flares that are being sent out.

I have been fascinated by the Titanic saga for years and to be able to fly this adventure sort of make one feel (if one has imagination, of course) part of the rescue effort.

You have done an outstanding job!!

Congratulation!!

Thanks Philippe,

Yes...it was one of my childhood fascinations since first seeing a black and white movie about it with my father - either the more authentic "A Night to Remember" or the more dramatic licensed version "Titanic" with Barbra Stanwick and Clifton Web. I had collected most things "Titanic" as I grew up, so it was only reasonable that it be included in one of these historical reenactments.

As for the SPAARCAB program for arrestor cables/catapult, I'm not sure why that should cause a problem. It runs as a standalone outside of the simulator. It's been a while since I worked with it so I'd have to take a look at it with you and your issues to see what the problem might be. It was optional for this mission because you can land the low and slow amphibious planes on it, but with Doolittle's Tokyo Raid, you'll want a working arrestor cable I think.

Nice sunset photo you have from the deck of the carrier by the way. It's nice to see many of these adventure pictures again...makes me desire to fly them again myself.

Thanks again for the kind words and for flying the Adventure Packs.
