Is there a way to add Service Awards and Economics Awards to your Signature section

Currently only the Adventure Pack awards can be added as you describe. If you're skilled in Photoshop or other digital photo editing software, you can add a jpg picture file to your signature or other things up to the character limit-that I don't recall right now.

You'd have to save the jpg picture to your album and then link the photo to your signature. It's not simple for non-computer geeks.

The whole awards thing is a bit complicated, and that adds to the difficulty in coding additional automated award icons. The Adventures were my creation, and the forum signature award icon addon came next thanks to seeing pilot Dano's signature where he created his own award signature and gave me the idea.

The extensive awards page renovation I did later, and isn't related to the other automated award processing. Each new Adventure award has to be coded into both the Adventures page and awards page so that the awards will automatically post to those pages when flown.

The signature award icon processing occurs within the Adventures page, containing many lines of code, and isn't easily transferred to the awards page, or the economy page.

I guess I could put a tutorial together to show pilots how to add additional icons to their signature. Personally, I like it because it gives a quick look at how active pilots are when viewing their forum signature without looking them up on the awards page. However, the awards page shows larger icons that better show what the award was for.

I guess I went way beyond the "yes or no" answer you were looking for, but I try to explain why things are the way they are - a gradual growth and development process that doesn't always lend itself to backwards compatibility.

I may look at what can be added to the signature icons automation, but that can get to be too much for a signature if we don't set a limit.

Regardless, thanks for the question and idea for a possible improvement. I'm always trying to make SPA better meet the needs and interests of the pilots.

I've now added a new tutorial with pictures under Main Menu -> Instructions for Forum Signature Icons. This tutorial gives detailed instructions of how to select awards from your awards page, load them into a photo editor (including link to the free photo editor used in this tutorial), and how to edit and combine your desired awards into a single icon file for uploading to your album and linking it to your signature.

As always, I'm willing to help any pilot who wishes to do this but gets stuck along the way. Just email me.

It's probably not as long or difficult a process as it looks with all those big pictures. Let me know if you have any problems or questions. It was the first for me using that photo editor software - as I just searched and downloaded it so that anyone can do this without special payware. I didn't have too much trouble just fiddling with it without reading any directions, so with my pictures and directions it should get through most of the hurdles.

Of course, I start with a general idea of how it all comes together - so it' s entirely possible I missed something that might lead to confusion.
