Flight Simulator Rankings

<div>Out of curiosity I looked over eight recent reviews of the most popular flight simulators. I was a bit surprised by the results, particularly that P3D rarely shows up on the list. I tallied up the choices for 1-2 place and then for 1-3 place. In both cases the results were the same. I combined Xplane-10 and Xplane-11, and FSX and FSX-Steam to single categories. The complete breakdown is listed at the bottom.</div>

Anyway, here's the results I came up with:</div>

<div>1. X-Plane
2. FSX
3. Virtual Pilot 3D</div>

Yikes Robert,

I only did a cursory Internet search to come up with 8 different ratings. I wasn't able to interview them about it.

I'm surprised too - and have no answer to that question. I would have expected P3D to be high on the list, being one of the first 64-bit sims available.

It would seem that VR simulation is the next big step - and many 3rd party addons are already working on development for that technology. This would make 64-bit a mere footnote as technology continues to advance.

I can keep upgrading my P3D as long as the license is valid.
