FsPassengers p3dv4, Air Hauler, and other things

While I had been awaiting the latest p3dv4 release of this wonderful addon, it appears delayed indefinitely due to serious illness of the developer. I really enjoyed that, as it gave some additional interaction on those longer flights. Hopefully the developer will recover and his wonderful product can yet be made available to p3dv4 users.

I've also been in contact with the developer of Air Hauler 2 in an effort to see some VA compatibility with that product. I originally thought that addon could serve as our economic/business option here at SPA, but that was before Mike D. rebuilt the cost/revenue model from scratch and greatly improved our existing Econ module.

When it comes to such addons, I like the more simpler things like our Econ model and the FsPassenger addons. Air Hauler 2 is much more complicated and more than I personally want to deal with on top of normal flight preparation. Still - if there's improved integration options with external VA's we could consider adding it as an additional feature here.

Perhaps it might be better just expanding our current Econ module with similar features to FsPassengers and Air Hauler, but with the desired integration with our VA that those addons currently lack.

Just thinking out loud here at the Pilot's Pub.

Cheers,

John

John,

When I get a little time, I'll have a look at FSPassengers and Air Hauler to see what sort of functionality they contain that might be built into our Econ Model (Econ III ?). However, the first thing I would suggest is to try expanding the current model out of the Bush and Cat I arena into mid-range passenger and cargo operations to get a sense of how it works there. The obvious way to do that would be to develop a third set of Econ Hub Flights, perhaps based at MSP.

I know that several pilots have been using the Econ module on all of their flights. I haven't made an effort to determine how it is working in those cases, but I would appreciate any feedback our pilots have about how it is working for them. Does the output make "sense" to you? Have you developed a feel for what it takes to plan and execute a profitable flight?

Mike
