Aviation legend SCOTT CROSSFIELD in fatal crash

I was talking to the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) captain who conducted the search for Scott Crossfield. The CAP captain said it looked like Scott flew into a heavy hailstorm and Scott's aircraft broke up in flight. There were pieces of it scattered over a wide area. Scott was a great aviation pioneer and will be missed by many.

I too am saddened to hear of Scott Crossfield's death. He was one of the great pioneers of aviation. He was the first man to go Mach 2, & Mach 3.
An extraordinary test pilot.
