FSHost and Skype

Yoland and I tried a multiplayer session today with FSX. We first connected our Skype voice session. Then, we started FSHost Client by connecting to the SPA server,. When we started FSX, it worked! We established a multiplayer session as well as chatted in real time through Skype. Skype is the best because we have a hot mike and do not have to press a key to talk. It went very smooth.

If you are interested, Yoland will give us a free tour of the area around Geneva. Let's all connect some time and give it a try.

The first thing to do is get yourself a Skype account. Then, let us know what your ID is. Mine is posted in my signature for now.

Secondly, download and install FSHost Client. You can find the link in Naresh's posting on our main page about multiplayer connections for FSX.

You can also use voice activated hotkey in TS. Just look below in the hot key setup page.

That's good to know. But, Yoland mentioned that the voice fidelity with Skype was better. It did sound pretty good today. We both were getting excellent frame rates as well.

I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with Teamspeak.

Let's all have an FSX multiplayer session and see what happens. Yoland has had up to thirty participants at one time and they meet regularly. They only speak French, however. I studied French in college, but that was about forty years ago. Uff da!

Yoland, weekly Bush online flight sounds great. Hope lot of people participate on that one.

You are welcome to use Skype. I agree with you that it has better audio. If everybody has Skype, all the best.
