[size=large]Fellow SPA pilots,

This weekend on April fool's day, we will be doing a rescue mission in Vancouver Canada.

A local tourist Cessna Caravan (amphibian) has not returned from its usual sightseeing trip to North Vancouver Island. The last radio contact with the pilot was made in the area highlighted below:

We are to find the airplane and rescue the pilot and his passengers. We believe this is not a fatal accident.

The weather is bad and it is getting dark soon. All the rescue volunteers are to meet in Victoria Harbor at 1500Z.

This will be a team work and you will have to work together to locate the missing plane.

Further instructions will be posted here.

Hope you will join us.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

I know there are a few of us with add-on scenery/terrain for that part of the world. The terrains will differ with the default FS9 scenery. However, you do not have to disable the add-on scenery or buy Ultimate Terrain Canada/Alaska.

The fallen aircraft will be in a spot which will be easily accessible in both default and add on scenery.

The multiplayer connection via FSNavigator will be disabled in the flight server. Please do not try to connect using FSNavigator. It will not connect you.

Displaying of the (online) aircraft label is optional. I say leave it on.

Search above the shore lines for the fallen aircraft. It may be on the ground or on the water.

Hope all are having a great week.

Thanks.

Is it possible to create a search pattern and assign pilots a plan so we don't cover the same ground more than once?

Morning Bob,

Good question.

My suggestion would be to assign somebody the leadership role. The leader and team will work on a search strategy and complete the mission before sunset.

Thanks.
