For those of you planning to fly Flight # 902120 / Mission 387003 in the near future, we have some recent snaps from a low-level pass by one of our P-47Ds.  In order to avoid getting nailed by AA fire, the tactic is to drop down to treetop level some distance from the airfield and sweep past too fast for them to even get to their guns.  It worked this time.  We haven't been able to modify any of our fighter aircraft specifically for photo recce work (yet), but the pilot got some hand held snaps.  Steady hand and steel nerves.

That bridge visible off to port is the overpass of N42 over the Calais road (A26).

Approaching St. Omer at almost 350 KIAS.

Sweep of the field parallel to Rwy 27 at maybe 300' AGL.  Those are the control tower and hangar on the right side of the frame.

And, behind the right (make that left) wing, five pretty, new Me-109s parked on the grass just north of the paved runway.  I'll buy beer for the guy (or gal) who can nail these,
