Really not an issue, Just a question

Can I fly out of my hangar, the FlyJSim Q4XP aircraft to substitute for the Q300?

Thanks in advance

Chili,

The general answer is yes. There is only one requirement with respect to what aircraft you can fly, and that is that it should not be heavier (i.e., higher category) than the aircraft category you are "qualified" by your rank to fly. In your case (Sr. Capt.) that is Cat VI (e.g., B757,B767,B787; but not B777 or B747). That is not a problem for the Q4XP which is in the Q400 category at about 60,000# TOW, a category III aircraft.
However, you are probably asking if it is OK t fly aircraft not in on our download page or not painted in the SPA livery. That is not a problem. That page is way out of date because we haven't had anybody aboard who wanted to paint aircraft, so most of us fly aircraft out of our own hangars.

And for those special flights like Adventure Pack flights, Econ flights and Mikes Bombing Mission flights, you will fly the appropriate aircraft as described for those flights. Of course, if you're flying Xplane, most or all of those special flights are not compatible with Xplane I'm afraid (except Econ flights seem to be working for you).

Great to know, thanks John, don't know if you noticed but been burning the midnight oil, lol; just trying different aircrafts from X-plane to see which ones play nice with the SPACARS.
Enjoying the flying.

Thanks

Yes, I've been watching. As long as you can get the aircraft model to set specific payload weight to match the required flight it should work. Just manually set the origin, destination and flight number to match the required flight and add anything to the route field. That should be enough to make the "start" button active and you can fly the flight in SPAACARS.

The secret to profitability is to find an available flight offering that can fill your plane's payload to near capacity limit and then offer a longer flight time. Basically fully loaded plane and long flight time equals big profit. The less full your plane is and the shorter the flight time cut into profits, and at some point become a negative profit flight.

Better to slightly overload a plane than grossly underload the next larger size aircraft for profit (not necessarily for safety). While there's some flexibility in aircraft loading, if you overload too much it will adversely affect your plane's aerodynamics resulting in crash or hard landing which again can adversely affect the profitability of the flight.

After a while you'll get used to what planes in your hangar work for certain flights that are available. I will try loading up several different planes to see how the payload required fits the plane. When I finally get the plane that I want to use and have it ready to fly, I then sign up for the flight on the econ page and fly. Some flight offerings are just too short and too light a payload to provide profit and can be flown if you don't mind taking a bit of a loss of revenue for the flight. Usually I pick a more profitable flight.

I also generally wait till the flights change midday so I don't run up against the 12-hour flight offering update. Otherwise I risk missing the flight deadline and getting charged the penalty for unfinished flight if I'm still in the air when the clock runs out.

John thanks for the great ECON explanation; yes, I think I have been getting the hang of it; for a few weeks there I was really in the red, but this week I have turned some good profits and I am up to about 20 something K's.
Ill keep poking around, so far I have 3 or 4 ac that are good for econ, but I have a full hangar, so Ill keep flying and enjoying it.

Thanks
