Pilots,
Mike and I have been working on an issue where SPAACARS is giving unexpected Fuel Mismatch Errors. The cause has been identified as the use of Active Pause in MSFS 2020 and 2024 during your flight. The short explanation is that using Active Pause only freezes the motion of your aircraft while the systems and other operations of the plane continue as normal - including fuel burn! This means that leaving your aircraft for longer periods of time can result in a Fuel Mismatch error from SPAACARs and even a possible fuel exhaustion situation when you return to continue flying.
The longer explanation is that SPAACARS detects the Active Pause as any other type of pause and initiates a pause sequence that is indicated by the green Sim connect indicator turning yellow. This stops all SPAACARS activity, including position reports and fuel and pax/cargo and time change checking. Since your aircraft is continuing to burn fuel, when you finally turn off Active Pause, SPAACARS will again check current fuel and the last fuel check it made. If there is a 5% difference in the fuel values, SPAACARS will send the Fuel Mismatch error.
I think that using the ESC key to pause your sim will pause the simulator without burning additional fuel. I haven't verified this by checking my aircraft's fuel before and after pausing, but I've paused my sim for several hours I think using that without having any Fuel Mismatch Errors.

Happy flying,
