What a surprise! I usually open FS2020 daily to look for changes. Yesterday when I clicked to open it totally uninstalled itself. To day I finally got it to reinstall the sim . Now for the next few hours we just wait. I guess I will have to do all the settings and flight control settings. I will not do that for a while. One more reason to not like the big endless monster. I did nothing but click to open the sim.

FS2020 has been pushing out a lot of updates and some require that the old version be replaced. So far, I have not lost settings or purchases.

I'ii see after the massive download, several hours, and all other operations on the Flight Sim computer are ion hold.

After a couple days and nights I think 2020 is reinstalled. When I opened the sim I only have the A320 and the 152. Everything in my community folder is deleted. I haven't checked the settings or flight sim control setting. For me a big waste. Back to X-Plane.

Too bad you're having so much trouble with it Ron. I'm having better luck certainly, but there's still a long way to go before it can be considered to have a "stable release". I've resisted adding too many things to the Community folder because with each new patch for MSFS any number of the addons to the Community folder can cause program crashes and other problems. I tend to want to see how the default simulator works before adding additional complexities for things to go wrong with. I only use the livery pack for the A320 and the A320NX in my Community folder and have occasionally removed the A320NX to see if it improves certain issues with the A320. There is the expected lag between a patch release for MSFS and the subsequent patch for A320NX to accommodate the changes made to MSFS. Needless to say, the more stuff added to the Community folder, the more times this process would need to be repeated and the more difficulty in identifying whatever might be negatively affecting your simming experience.

It did work ok, most of the time, until this episode. Because I customized a new computer with super hardware to run 2020, X-Plane runs like a champ. My computer has very high specs so that is not a problem My internet where I live is a higher speed type of DSL. I forget what ATT calls it, but my max speed 12Meg, so the huge download the second time was terrible. What I don't understand is why it only has two aircraft. I guess I'll have to download all that again.
