How to submit an article

Gentlemen,

If you are logged in, you can submit an article to our website for all of us to read. Your article can be of anything from PIREP stories, trip to a local strip bar, your family summer vacation to Niagra Falls, to reviews of certain products such as FS-addons, computer hardwares, foods, motorbikes etc.

If you are a good writer such as Steve and Jerry, please do share your stories with all of us here at SPA.

1: You need to be logged in.

2: If you would like to include pictures (highly recommended) with your story/article, please upload them to the misc folder first.

3: Click 'Submit an article' from the main menu under News section.


4: You will get to Submit News page. This is where you type your article. I suggest you first write your article in MS Word or any other word processing program. Then copy your content in the boxes on this page.



5: The Article Lead-in box is for the headlines for your news. Please try to make your headlines short. You can also include an image for your headlines there by using the thumbnail picture of the pictures you uploaded for this article. (copy the link of the thumbnail not the big picture, it usually has '.thumb.jpg' in the file name)



Your headline will look like this in the front page:


6: Now type your article here or copy from the word document to this body box: You can add pictures using img HTML tags here as well. Link the full sized pictures here not the thumbnails.


7: You can preview how your article will look like by pressing the preview button. When you are satisfied with what you have, you can submit the article by pressing OK.

That's it.

Your article will be reviewed by the webmaster before publishing it on the front page.

Thanks Naresh for this "how to". I hope more people take advantage of it. I hope to do a Pirep story soon.
We have to get Gary Horton to do one as he's really talented
as a writer, and really doesn't have anything to do. Nothing
but time on his hands, that gent.
