As Naresh can tell you I am not a big comp wizard. I am looking into a second hard drive. My system has a 70 gig one with 20 gig left. I want FS9 on the new hard drive. My System is HP AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 2.08 GHZ 1.00 GB ram. Tha drive I am looking at is..Western Digital Caviar 160 GB 7200 rpm 8 mb cache IDE Ultra ATA 100 hard drive. Will this work in my system??? Is 48.00 a good price??? Do you need more info? Will check for any replies later...THANK YOU...Jim

Jim,
It is your motherboard that has to accept this hard drive you mentioned. I'm guessing, actually 100% sure, it can take the new drive.
But, if your motherboard can take SATA drives, by all means go for SATA drives. It is the future of hard drives. In a few years, all the IDE hard drives will be absolute.
Here is one that ten bucks more but every penny well spent:

Thanks.
