I am enquirying to see if anyone is using Flightsim Commander, and is it as good or better than FS Navigator? From the write ups I have read I'm ready to go and buy it.

Thanks

I do not own it but I like this part:

Online pilot support:
- VATSIM airspace structure
- IVAO airspace structure
- display of active controllers
<p>
Flight Planning is provided for:
- simple manual or automatic plans
- navaid-to-navaid, victors airways, jet airways
- combined plans with different route types
- SIDs/STARs, Natracks
- user-defined route segments
<p>
Charts and special windows
- airport information
- graphic and textual arrival chart
- graphic and textual departure chart

- automatic logbook
- runway chart

The graphics are more interesting.

Paul:

I have FSC and FSNav.

They are a bit different. FSNav runs in the background of FS as you know.

FSC runs as a separate program. That can be good and bad depending on your outlook.
The good is you can build a FP without FS being open, and save it. The bad is you can not reduce FSC and run both in the same window...it's one or the other.
However, FSC has many features that FSN does not have.
It is a better presentation...the earth looks brown and the water is blue.
You can download real world wx and display it on the map...mouse over to see it for any airport.
You can also load the VATSIM server info...so you can see who is open while you are flying, and when you cross their boundary.
FSC shows AI traffic on the map within so many miles of your aircraft.
FSC will assign you a parking spot at your destination that is empty at that time...and show you where it is on the map.
It has a handy GPS feature where you can access information about destination, or wx etc while flying. You can even select "HDG HOLD" on it and it will fly your airplane along the loaded route.
You can transfer freq from the map or the GPS unit to your radios with a mouse click.
It will print everything about your trip, plan and departure and destination airports in great detail if you wish.

It is however more complicated to learn than FSN...but that's really because it has more features.

The maker of FSC is always listening to the users and making changes to suit users needs.

You can use it for both FS9 and FSX...with a separate database for each.

Take a long look at their website and print out their manual and read thru it...get the demo and try it out.

If you have any questions just let me know.

The one from AEROSOFT does not require a reg version of FSUIPC...but the one form SIMMARKET (or whatever it is) does.

Jerry,

Thanks for that "mini-review" of FSC. I have been thinking about getting it, now I will check out the site and manual, I really need a decent interface for FSX other than what it has to offer. Thanks!
