SPA ACARS Program Now Available For Download

Pilots,

I'm pleased to offer my first beta release of our own SPA Acars program!


The install and user instructions are included in the Manual.pdf file, and which is accessible also by clicking the 'help' menu button. It's all included in the SPAACARS.zip file located in the Download area under Enhancements and Utilities:

Please feel free to give this program a try. I hope to continually improve and add to it with future version releases. This gives us an opportunity to add all kinds of creative things in the future such as payload model uploads and finance/company tracking, etc.

Initially it offers an easier install and setup than the old FSACARS, and it can read your FS-loaded flight plan and save a lot of data entry for filing those PIREPS.

Please give it a test run and report problems and improvement suggestions to me.

Works almost flawlessly for me John. I do get an error message when I click "FS Flight Plan" button, something about '...input string not in correct format", but my flight plan was simply "TPO 5AK0" which is exactly what appears in the Route window. Maybe it's the absence of intermediate waypoints, but it didn't seem to matter. The PIREP went through and all the details are correct.

Great job John! This will be a real plus for SPA.

Thanks for the update Mike. I'll look into that and see what the problem is. I thought my flight didn't upload correctly but noted that it jumped to the next date and will show tomorrow

I'll keep the file out there for other pilots to test out so I can work out any other kinks identified.

Mike,

I believe the error has to do with setting the lat-lon for the live-update part of the program. Obviously my parsing of that data was not 'all-inclusive' I'll take a look at that tomorrow.

I've updated the program file. Please re-download the zip file and copy all the files over the top of your current SPAACARS folder.

Let me know if it behaves badly again.
