In honor of Alfred and his round the world flight in a DC-3, I would like to suggest a round piston engine airliner flight into Medford, Oregon (KMFR). We would shoot the VOR/DME RWY 14 approach using user input weather of 3000 overcast (8/ up to 8000 feet and a vis of 2sm. Also a slight wind from 140 at 8 kts.
If you don't have any old airliners in your hanger (other than the DC-3) then look around, as there are plenty...Connie (L-049); B377; M-404, and CV-440 etc.
Get the app plate from the SPA site.
Any takers? Please sign up here.

I'll be there with my Howard 500, oil leaks and all.
What time do you want us there? Which airport did you want to depart from? KPDX perhaps?

Great!
I'm going to fly a M-404 from KPDX (Portland) down V-23.
How about we plan to take-off at 1500Z (1100 ET). It's about an hour flight from PDX to Medford.
If we get very many people we can depart from different places, or just take diff. routes and altitudes.
Print out the approach plate > KMFR VOR/DME RWY 14. Remember the wx will be set (by you, because Naresh is out of town) to:
3000 - 8000 overcast (8/ with vis of 2sm and wind of 140@8.
Looking forward to seeing you piston heads there!
Jerry

Sounds fun guys. Unfortunately, I won't be able to join you all.
This event has been added to our Event Calendar and I will also set up the above weather setting for you all.
Have fun.
