Has any pilot(s) tried using flight simulator in VR? I'm curious about this and am interested if any of our pilots have tried this.
It seems that I've looked into this earlier, and I just did more reading now until I couldn't see straight. I'm initially scared away by the high price tag for a good VR set, and that it introduces a whole new set of issues regarding system settings to prevent stuttering, artifacts, etc. It seems to be a way to take your relatively functional simulator back to the time when you can again spend hours working out the bugs again to get satisfactory performance.
What if I want to alternate between monitor and VR? Do I have to retune my whole system each time I change?
One thread said that my current system is bare necessity for a VR setup, and I have about the most powerful components I think I could get at this time. So....not sure I'm ready to try this without some positive feedback from other users.

Hi John,
Don't know anything about VR except for a time or two we tried it a friends home on a video game. Both of us got very dizzy and had to take off the gear. I might add that the same thing happens to me at 3D movies. I get quite a bad case of vertigo and have to sit down until it passes.
Perhaps I'm simply quite sensitive to the rapid eye movements and even the physical movement when you play tennis in the gear. BTW, I also get seasick on cruises unless I take motion medication.
With that being said, I can only suggest that before a rather large amount of cash is involved, put it on a "try it before you buy it" list.

Thanks Smitty. Very interesting because that was one of the issues I've read about VR - motion sickness. I too am very prone to motion sickness, so that is yet another concern to seriously consider.
