Ipad Navigraph and FSX was created by paul.kennedy
Hi Pilots... I just inherited an Ipad. Now I've heard and seen a bit about using the ipad for charts, sids and stars etc. Is anyone familian with how to set this up or maybe to give me a pointer in the right direction about setting it up? Using a windows 10 system for fsx . Thanks in advance for any help

Try ForeFlight: Check this link ->
ForeFlight
I used FlightAware on my iPad but it has been a while. Check this link -> FlightAware

I too use ipad with Foreflight. Note that Foreflight is a tool used by real-world pilots and is relatively expensive compared to products designed for sim use only. I've been using it for years for flight planning and fuel planning, which has been handy for our econ flights. It takes into account winds when calculating your fuel burn for the route chosen. You can jump from various charts including High, Low and approach carts. It overlays real world weather over your flight plan too.
I think you can pay for different areas you fly frequently.

I just renewed my ForeFlight subscription for a few months costing $50. But, I am hoping to use it to help me program the FMS in the cockpit. I just downloaded the CRJ500 and 700. That aircraft would be a good way to learn about using a FMS (Flight Management System).

John, had a look at Foreflight, but all the descriptions looked like they relate to MSFS2020. I'm still using FSX because my new machine isn't ready and I can't use FS2020 yet. Or does that even make a difference?

No...no difference. I used it extensively with FSX - in fact, there's even an addon that allows you to track your flight across the Foreflight chart as if it was your current GPS location like with real world pilots. I don't even know if that addon is available for FS2020, as I stopped using it because it was "too easy" to fly with.
Other than that addon there is really no interaction with the flight simulators. It is primarily for flight/fuel planning and, if you have real world scenery, the VFR charts with Foreflight help you identify where you are.
There's cheaper sim-related things that do the same thing, and that you can use your ipad with, although I'm not sure what works best for your country. Here I like Airnav. You might find Simbrief more universal. I think both those and perhaps other things might work well with Ipad also.
