I just discovered that ORBX now has VFR aircraft downloads that look amazing. I always wanted a helicopter, and they have some good ones.

Hmm...What I see there is primarily Milviz (an aircraft provider you can get elsewhere as well), Lancair (A now-defunct company last I knew), so I'm not sure what you're excited about here? I would prefer that Orbx/FTX concentrate on correcting issues with their current scenery offerings rather than trying to become the pseudo-Amazon Flight Simulation Superstore.

edited by: jer029, Jan 20, 2020 - 07:33 PM

I was really surprised when I opened up Orbx Central to update Vector after some new scenery installs and found the MilViz/Nemeth stuff. If the software developer has their own "store", I tend to buy direct from them. When updates are available or required the 3rd party vendors have to wait for the developers to send it to them. If support, except for ordering or payment problems are required, you are generally told to go direct to the developer anyway.

I like the feedback here. I am always learning something new about this experience. Maybe we should start a new "Best Of" page in St. Paul Airlines for what we should be using, or recommendations for our simulation experience. Then, for each recommendation, we could add a section of ideas for configurations and tips. Often there are settings that might be available that are not obvious to the new users.

edited by: SPA031, Jan 21, 2020 - 11:18 AM
