Hey Smitty,
I like those pics you posted of Bear Island. I looked around and found Emerald Scenery that includes both freeware and payware. I'm guessing that is what you used for those pics?
I've not downloaded it yet, but it looks like they have some nice stuff there.

That's the one. I've not tried their payware stuff but I love Bear Island. You have to D/L Bear Island and a library package, also freeware, called EOLv2 to make it work. BTW, it's a real, but closed, airport in the middle of Crystal Lake in Central Florida. Kind of think it is or was kind of a party place for locals in the area. Use BOB, freeware from ORBX, to roam around and check out the birds, alligators and other little surprises.
There's a number of fly in type communities in the area too like Spruce Creek and the one that John Travolta parks his 707 at. Bunch of rich boys with very expensive toys! I imagine there's quite a few $100 breakfast trips made by those folks.

BTW, unless you like some of the worst winter WX on the continent by all means skip the Cascade Tour until the Spring Thaw. I can't remember a single leg that I didn't run into fog, snow, icing conditions, extremely high winds , rain ... the list goes on. If I didn't have Plan G and their excellent TOPO maps I would have given up about four legs into the tour.
