Hi guys and ladies,

I'd like to share with you a video I came across after a bush flight in PNG (MYX to AYNZ). After flights in particularly interesting areas, I often search for fotos (via track in Google Earth) and videos of the region I visited, so I did near Lae. Apparently at the new Nadzab Airport (AYNZ) serving Lae a plate was introduced in 2018 commemorating Amelia Earhart in remembrance of her last flight from the old Lae airport to who knows where.

By the way, how many women are around at SPA? I mean, we are pretty handsome guys, aren't we, though kind of lonesome wolves sitting at our flight sim computers ...
We would certainly love to integrate more flight sim enthuastic woman pilots who might appreciate SPA's versatile offering of tours, would we not?

Thanks Oswald,

I'm now reading the a book on her flight and the subsequent search for her. I'm now at the point where the plane is lost and the search begins. From what I read, it sounds like she was operating on a shoe-string budget, was not a very good pilot, and took unnecessary risks. Like the author points out, as with most air disasters, this was the result of a cumulative list of factors that could have been mitigated or corrected to prevent this accident.

For anyone interested - here's my suggested reading for this flight (like I include with many of my Adventure Pack adventures):

Finding Amelia - The true story of the Earhart disappearance by Ric Gillespie.
